More About the Opioid Epidemic in Monterey County & Valley Health Associates Treatments:

The 2019 California Opioid Use Disorder and Treatment Needs Fact Sheet for Monterey County reveals that 2.1% of our residents 12 years of age and older (7,537 people) have a diagnosed opioid use disorder. Yet, 5,477 of these patients DO NOT have access to treatment. Even more, due to extremely dangerous new street drugs laced with fentanyl and carfentanyl, the increase in overdoses that lead to death here in Monterey County is staggering.

Valley Health Associates and our patients need your support now more than ever!

We diligently strive to offer services that will enhance the lives of those we serve by keeping a pulse on our community’s needs. As an example, our Youth Outpatient Program opened in December 2019, and it is the first of its kind in Salinas. In addition, our Comprehensive MAT Adult Outpatient Program was recently approved to increase the number of service treatment slots from 100 to a much needed 130 patients PER DAY.

What’s more, Valley Health Associates works hard to distribute overdose reversal kits into the hands of community members. And, we will launch a Mobile Clinic in October that will bring treatment to the communities of Seaside, East Salinas, and South County.

It is because local community supporters LIKE YOU that the lives of our patients improve! We hope you’ll join us for some BBQ!
