MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT
MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT
Medicated Assisted Treatment is a physician and patient-driven program that includes opioid therapy, a medical examination by a physician, individual counseling, and drug screenings. Community referrals include the following: 12-step meetings, vocational and/or educational training, and job placement.
OPIOID DEPENDENCY MEDICATIONS
Methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone are used to treat opioid dependence and addiction to short-acting opioids such as heroin, morphine, and codeine, as well as semi-synthetic opioids like oxycodone and hydrocodone. People may safely take medications used in MAT for months, years, several years, or even a lifetime. Plans to stop a medication must always be discussed with a doctor.

BEHAVIORAL THERAPIES
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Seeks to help patients recognize, avoid, and cope with the situations in which they are most likely to abuse drugs.
-
Motivational Incentives. Uses positive reinforcement such as providing rewards or privileges for remaining drug-free, for participating in counseling sessions, or for taking treatment medications as prescribed.
-
Motivational Interviewing. Uses strategies to encourage rapid and self-driven behavior change to stop drug use and help a patient enter treatment.
-
Group Therapy. Helps patients face their drug abuse realistically, come to terms with its harmful consequences, and boost their motivation to stay drug free. Patients learn how to resolve their emotional and personal problems without abusing drugs.
COST OF TREATMENT
The cost of treating opiate addiction depends on the provider you choose, the level of care recommended and your length of time in treatment. Your cost will also depend on whether you have insurance coverage for rehab or you are paying out-of-pocket. A sliding scale fee accepted for those who meet financial requirements
